    Hey, thanks Lefty and Allen, you nailed it. I thought I had to have a left bar to accommodate a picture on the left on the home page. I can't attach 2 images in one message, correct? Only one? Here's the good new format.[Edit actually I only needed to attach one image.]

    In the image above, the thumbnails are too small. This is part of the default Smugmug style - I thought there was a place I could enlarge the thumbnails. Where is that located now? Thanks.

    Are you trying to put a message in with two photos is a box? Use an html box and code in all
    the photos and text you want.

    Hope I'm not outstaying my welcome. You guys have been awesome in more ways than one.
    I saw on another thread that iframes are no longer supported. Could you confirm there is no workaround for this?
    And, on all pages (I think all, though I haven't visited every page), embedded youtube videos are gone, as well as embedded smugmug videos. Would this be because my HTML code, um, sucks? Or is embedding no longer supported either? (In that case I may have to leave Smugmug. :cry:cry).

    If embedding is still supported, well, I recently got Dreamweaver so can have a go at fixing the code more easily. I'm the person who learned HTML from scratch and found out I - um - didn't. Found out the hard way when the code broke exponentially.

    Thanks.

    Not sure I'm following this... I'm uploading little images from my computer, not from another website. In this case HTML doesn't apply - am I right? Definitely I know I could be wrong. :D

    Unfortunately there is no way to adjust the SmugMug Layout thumbnail sizes. They will resize based on how much can fit on your screen (or at least the # of thumbnails will ... i don't know about the size of each thumbnail). I believe the only way to control thumbnail size would be to pick a different layout -- like Collage Landscape or Thumbnail. I'm hoping at some point in the future SmugMug gives us control to adjust the layout templates but for now there's no way that I know of.

    You are correct -- iframes are no longer supported. However, SmugMug has been pretty amazing at adding whatever support people have needed iframes for. For example, many people requested iframes so they could embed Vimeo videos and SmugMug added that. People wanted WooFoo support and SmugMug added that.

    Using the SmugMug content block's you can add SmugMug, YouTube, and Vimeo videos to any page. Just go to "Customize Site" and go to "Add Content Block" -> "Video" -> and then drag the "Video" (SmugMug video file), YouTube, or Vimeo block wherever you want it. If it's a SmugMug video you can pick the file in the options. If it's a YouTube or Vimeo file I believe they ask you for the link to the video.

    When you said "I can only attach one photo, right?" -- you meant attaching it here on the dgrin forums. Correct? I believe Allen thought you meant putting a content block on your SmugMug page with 1 or multiple photos. Or is that what you meant -- you wanted to be able to put 2 photos somewhere on your SmugMug page?

    Yes, thanks, I meant in dgrin. I see lots of people post very large images, and what appears to be 2-3 of them in one post, and they seem to be real images, so I've not known how they did that.

    There must have been a reason to remove the capability, but I need it. Some of my pages host information/pages from other sites (with written permissions obtained). Maybe this will be a reason I never switch out of legacy...

    Thanks. This will certainly help. Some of my pages are text, embedded video, text, embedded video, many times over. I see the text is on the gallery as presumably one block. I'm reading this to say that I have to re-do the pages into blocks - except, I have a lot of HTML too for some of them.... I have not yet looked at the HTML block but obviously must get there.

    Maybe it was using javascript that allowed this in legacy?

    (I also Pinked the extra breadcrumb that I cannot eliminate.)

    Regarding the suggestion that my inability to remove the breadcrumb at the gallery level - because it was basically redundant, because I already have the full breadcrumb "all site" at the top - it turns out the problem was that I shouldn't have added the breadcrumb to the gallery level in the first place. I needed to add just the title. So now it looks just right. It wasn't a bug to have the 2nd breadcrumb at the gallery level, that's what it was meant to do, show the path.

    To embed multiple images, use the "Insert Image" button and insert a link to the image on your site.

    Look at the sticky in Dgrin Forum Support to get answers about how to do things like embed pictures in your posts. The Dgrin FAQ lead me to How to Embed an Image in Your Post.

    To expand on Denise ... when you see people post multiple images here on dgrin and they're nice and big (and not limited to the 800pixel width maximum of attaching an image) ... what most people do is take a screenshot and upload it to an unlisted gallery on their SmugMug page. Then click "Get a Link" and find the link to the largest (or original) size. Then come back to the dgrin forums and click "Insert Image". It asks for a URL to the image. Paste in your URL and wallah -- large images. You can click "Insert Image" again and add additional images!

    Thanks again, Denise and Lefty. That just seems like too much work to me. I can screen capture, save, and upload so much easier. Luckily I haven't needed the shiny big ones. :)

    WOuld that be on your legacy? I am way up in your thread around #72ish. Looks like you went live. The "Click to Enlarge" no longer works since SM added the little caption box on hover. Tried your code on my Preview site and it did not work. Sorry if this was brought up later in the thread!

    This seems to work also and adjusts to how many lines. Have to check a bunch of pages.
    height: auto !important;

    Screen shot showing 1, 2 and 3 lines of titles.
    Edit: I replaced the screen shot with the "auto" height in the CSS

    Allen, when you say GRID FORMAT, is that different from the SmugMug Theme? I want my SmugMug Theme Folders and Galleries to wrap just like you have here instead of being cut off. I have my text UNDER the images. Still in Preview mode.

    Leary of just trying out the code and see what happens 'cause I have added code (some from you!) to center that text and using smaller font to get more on the line. Have to inspect where I put it and if they are together or separated by other code. Oh phooey...I'll just put it at the end of the CSS and see what happens.......nope, didn't work.

    EDIT: Just saw this"Originally Posted by Allen View Post

    That answered the theme question. But it is not working for me...tried again. Will add code to new post.

    The code to emphasize the active link in your menu bar is here. It only works on a horizontal/vertical menubar. If you're using accordian, I don't believe it works (I think for whatever reason, perhaps a bug, the accordian menubar doesn't have the sm-page-widget-nav-activepage class added to the active menu item.
    /* Make the menu nav bar text for the active page a different color */
    .sm-page-widget-nav-activepage > a {
      color: #E3E3E3!important;
    }

    /* Make the menu nav bar hover text for the active page a different color */
    .sm-page-widget-nav-activepage > a:hover {
      color: #FFFFFF!important;
    }

    This is news to me. I decided to not use this feature as it started to make the website cluttered. So you won't see it on my New SmugMug site that is live. I'll have to investigate if I have some time...

    Found it. FANTASTICclap.gif It's working like a champ. Also, glad I caught to place the code in the Theme Custom CSS. I agree with the poster who said this should be a sticky threadwings.gif

    Now I'll get the Menu item thing done...

    EDIT: Changed the height to auto - don't see anything different but will leave it that way. Also, I am tickled pink that the text is still centered from code I put somewhere else. This all makes me a REAL HAPPY CAMPER right now. Y'all are the best.

    wrote:

    Hmmm. Not all of the items are working. The ones that work go white and stay white. The others go back to original color.

    Works (uppercase/lowercase as in the actual url):

    Home (my url)
    Galleries (/browse)
    Slideshow (/Slideshow)
    Search (/search)
    Guest Book (/Guestbook)
    Keyword Poor (/keyword)

    Have no menu items due to SM programming - so don't matter:

    Cart
    Contact
    Test SS (using bug to have a legacy slideshow!)

    Do Not Work:

    Recent (/Galleries-Page)
    Date (/date)
    Keywords (/ALL-Keywords)
    Info (/About)

    Any clues in that? Here's a current screen shot:

    EDIT: Will not have so many items when I unveil.

    It's under Settings -> Privacy -> "Content Settings" box -> scroll down to "Fullscreen" -> "Manage Exceptions" -> then you have to enter the website URL of the page you want to allow to go full screen.

    For example: set "[*.]www.flickr.com" to "Allow"

    Anything with a Custom URL will not get the activepage class added to it and won't be able to be highlighted when you're on that page.
