View pictures Large by default?

When people first come to my website and click on my pictures, small is the default size. A lot of people don't realise you can see them larger, so the browsing experience is bad. I can't find a way to make them Large by default when they first click on the pictures.

Is there any way to make them large by default?

The default size is set by a cookie on the user's computer. So it may not necessarily be the small size for a given user. There is no way for you to set the default size.

but presumably you could have the link when you click on a picture would have "Large" as the last word in it.

There has to be some way Large is forced, no? Or some way to disable small and medium viewing?

You can put a link to the single image view yourself like the one above if you want, but if you're using a gallery style like all thumbs, journal, traditional, or slideshow (anything except the smugmug gallery styles) and you click on an image, you will get a single image view and you can't specify the image size that it defaults to.
