Took this at Ironman Wales this weekend. Wonder what you think and whether anybody else likes to show Ironman photos.

It is an extraordinary event: a triathlon of open water swimming - in this case in the sea - followed by 180 km bike ride and a full marathon.

I was lucky to get this shot with my kit. It was early morning 7am. The pros were on the beach and I was a long way away shooting from a cliff top hand-held with a 40D and 70-300 IS USM.

Not Ironman, but I caught some athletes training for a triathlon one early morning:

I really like the composition of the swimmers. I imagine that there's a lot of kicking going on!

Again, not an Ironman pic ... but a member of the local triathlon club during a training session (they use a lake which is one of many where I visit for w/life)
I've since taken others of a more 'action' type when our paths have crossed and there's been little avian activity ... but I still like this'un :)

Btw - like the pic in post one, for various reasons ... + it also reminds me of scenes normally seen in TV documentaries associated with the the moment of conception ...

    Nice shot

    pp

Added a more 'action' shot, same venue etc

Great shot. For some reason it makes me think of an image of sea creatures. I know that sounds a little unusual, but that was the feeling.

Thanks for the nice remarks. I thought I would share another one from the day before.

The locals are really enthusiastic about this event and take part in an "Ironkids" series of races.
