Every year, sometime in late Fall, a buddy of mine flies down from Philly and I drive down from Jacksonville to meet up and enjoy a week of fun and games at his get-away condo on Marco Island, FL.

Oddly, even though I'm a native Floridian, I've never been much of a beach person. But, pulling duty on Marco Island ranks right up there as a great way to spend some time. The beach and water sports during the day, some really quaint ( and very active ) bars at night.....Lord, it doesn't get any better.

I hear you, girl. You'd be hard pressed to come up with a finer setting for enjoying Florida's beaches. Then evening time rolls around, you find a place offering the finest crab claws and some judicious liquid libations, and you keep pinching yourself to make sure you haven't passed on to heaven.
