Always have your camera

Lurking down the back roads of California today while heading up north to work, I pulled over to take my bosses call. While sitting there talking to him I catch movement in the corner of my eye off a flooded rice field coming over the brush.
Tell my boss to hold on reach over and grab my D7000 with Sigma 170-500mm off the seat turn and fire as the bird is heading straight at me.He saw the movement and made a left turn. Able to get about 7 frames these 2 were the best I could get all the others were out of focus. Very happy though they are a little soft, the eagles have not been cooperating so far this year. Until today, totally unexpected

Boss thought I was driving and put down my phone because of a Highway Patrol, told him no it was an Eagle. Said it was nice to know where my work priorities are and better send him the shot so he could see it.
