Tamron 150-600

Seriously considering making my first lens purchase in more than 5 years (in other words, since I've been married :lust ). Anyway, was wondering if anyone has thoughts on this lens or have used it yet.

    I have been interesting to hear about this lens as well.

    I have a Tamron 200-500 non VR lens, that is quite nice. Very little to no chromatic aberration, and quite sharp. Not as fast at AF as most of Canon's white lenses, but it also is a smaller aperture, and lighter, as well as more inexpensive.

    The 150-600 seems worth a shot, for folks who need those focal lengths.

    I've been considering getting a longer focal length as well. Since I wouldn't use it on a regular basis per say, I am highly considering one of the Sigma's and now one of these. It would be more just to have a fun lens with a long focal length for when the need/urge comes up.

    It sounds too good to be true, really. We'll have to wait for some real world reports to know for sure. OTOH, I am still shooting with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 that I bought nine years ago and plan to keep it till it dies--or I do, whichever comes first--so I know they're capable of creating excellent value products. Now if only I could come up with a good reason to get one--street shooting from two blocks away? lol3.gif
