Repeated background image

Appreciate should anyone tell me how to make a small background image repeated? This will be applied globally except for the homepage.

    I added mine in the theme, thumbnail size. Select the image and repeat "tile".

    customize > customize site > theme tab on flyout
    active theme click wrench
    advance tab

    Only two choices available though, homepage or entire site.
