background slideshow forward and backward button

How can I add the forward and backward button for the background slideshow?

    If the slideshow is in the background, you really can't - since the buttons would be overlapped by other elements on the page.

    That's not possible with the background slideshow. You could only disable the background slideshow and instead add a slideshow content block to your site. The slideshow content block would allow you to add buttons for visitors to control the slideshow.
