Brainy lichen ?

Interesting lichen on a twig - not seen one quite like this before. Both shots focus stacked using zerene.

    Lots of detail.

    Last weekend I found a twig with something of similar granular appearance on a twig. A quick look suggests it is in the Parmelia group, possibly Flavoparmelia, but that is not much better than a guess. I have a live specimen here of the one I photographed.
