A view of the Mt St Helens crater. Captured with a cell phone camera on a flight out of Seattle headed for Sacramento.

Awesome catch! Hard to believe it's a cell-phone pic out a plane window.

He probably lowered the phone through the landing gear.....for better view. Please answer your text.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Cell cameras are pretty sharp these days, but I was still surprised by the clarity shooting through 2 layers of window also.

I thought of climbing into the wheel well, but didn't have my safety harness so that I could tie off. rolleyes1.gif

Really nice! Considering the situations under which it was taken... Even better! ;)

Thanks for viewing. The original post was the image straight out of the camera. I have posted a revised image, next to the original, after popping it into Lightroom and adjusting the clarity and some sharpness improvement.

Phil, amazing shot given your material. Look how much of that mountain is gone! I saw an interview with a mountain man that refused to leave that area before the eruption. Mother nature doesn't care sometimes.

That's why no one buys point-and-shoot cameras anymore, I guess. Nice shot, and it processed up nice, too.
