I've recently been able to add the Canon 100mmL 2.8 to my kit of lenses. This is my first real attempt with true macro phtography. C&C welcome and apprecaited. I found this little spider hanging out on the clematis in our back yard this morning. All were shot handheld with fill flash.

Pretty good for a first attempt. Getting down to the level of the spider is always a good viewpoint.

You invited comments. Firstly you have some visible noise, most prominent in the third image, which is easily removed. Secondly, the two bright colours in the background are a distraction.: best to lose the red/orange. The spider itself is rendered quite well but I would try a half stop or so small to get a bit more DOF.

Thanks for the feed back. I hope to find more tomorrow to practice with.
