Canon's 50 megapixel Monster 5DS is now on sale for $3,700, how many are you going to buy?

Honestly, IMO, 36, 42, 50mp is the domain of serious landscapers. If I were a serious landscaper, I'd probably have switched to Nikon or Sony by now.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

I strongly suspect that the Canon EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R bodies are targeted towards commercial photography, i.e. product photography (including food photography), high-end real estate photography, medical photography, etc.

This will also be a fairly good rental item. thumb.gif

Ever wonder what a Canon 5DS R, 50 MegaPixel image looks like?

DPReview posted a "Real-World Sample Gallery".
