Fixed Background

I have started the transition. I'm stuck and on the very same issue with the old which was solved...but I forgot how. What it is...is this. On my new homepage I have placed a (temp) background image. The problem is that when you scroll vertically the banner and the navbar as well as the slideshow seem to be on the the same layer while the background is on another so the background stays in place when the others move up and down. What I want is for them to be locked. It's difficult to describe so I am including the links.

From the old...http://www.cecilwhitt.com/...as compared to the new. If someone could help me with this I would be a happy camper as opposed to another disgruntled that doesn't want to change. I may have the code in my old smug stuff...honestly I can't remember.

Thanks in advance and in light, C.

To set a section (like the header) to not move:

    > Customize
    > Content and Design
    > Entire site
    > Click the layout box

scroll to the bottom of the section and select the section you would like to pin.

    Fixed Background
I am migrating to the new smug but have gotten stuck. The same problem was addressed with the legacy...but I can't recall how it was fixed. What it is...is this. On my new smug homepage I have applied a temp background. When the page is scrolled vertically the banner, navbar, and slideshow act as one layer and the background acts as another. What I would like is to have them scroll together. I may have the code in the legacy smug for that...I'm not sure. Thanks in advance, http://www.cecilwhitt.com/

I tried that but it didn't solve the issue. On the homepage the background never moves, but the header and slideshow will scroll independently. This doesn't visually work with a graphic background. Any thoughts, thanks. http://www.cecilwhitt.com/

I've merged your two threads that ask the same question.

Unfortunately including a link to your site takes the viewer to your legacy site. The only people who can see your new smugmug site until you unveil it are people who work for smug. For the others who try to help, including screen shots may be useful.

Are you saying that setting the PINNING section in your theme to Header doesn't pin the header?
Does it work if you temporarily remove the background image?

    Background
Sorry for the double thread and for your time. I took the leap and published to the new smug. I am planning on putting a much more elaborate background on the site, but for now I think that you will be able to see my dilemma. The way I understand pinning is the background is pinned and the header and slideshow are not. I want the background, header, and slideshow to move as one unit when scrolling. Other than that I'm pretty happy with how the new site looks for me. Thanks so much, http://www.cecilwhitt.com/

Your Collaboration page should be a Page and not a gallery. Then the empty gallery would not show below.
