Anyone own the TAMRON SP AF MACRO 90mm 1:2.8 f/2.8 172E

Looking to get some sample shots of the TAMRON SP AF MACRO 90mm 1:2.8 f/2.8 172E - was hoping to pick up the lens for cheap for wedding ring shots. thnx.

    I own that model (Canon "EF" mount) and it's fine for true macro (1:1) photography. Very nice image quality and lightweight. Will not tolerate much abuse, but mine is holding up nicely. AF is a bit on the slow side, but accurate.

    Since you have the username "Minolta" and you list the D750 (I presume that you mean the Nikon D750) I add that in the Nikon "F" mount version I believe that this lens is an AF-D type, meaning that you need a Nikon body with an autofocus drive-screw motor in the body in order to autofocus. Some of Nikon's bodies lack this autofocus drive-screw motor but if you do have the Nikon D750 I believe that it does have the autofocus drive-screw motor in the body.

    Awesome thanks for the response. I've been looking for a wedding macro lens for a while now and this one came available from a local guy for less tan $150
