Yup, I'm seeing it, & I now found this Help page that has (down towards the bottom) all the needed info. http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93254#slideshow I see it was just updated Nov. 5, so I think this wasn't there when I looked for it a couple weeks ago, since the whole share panel is new. I'd looked all over for a possible way to embed a slideshow elsewhere & nothing came up in search or anywhere. Idk, it's so confusing. We were told a long time ago that once Legacy had completely died, this wouldn't be possible.

I remember distinctly because I was really bummed out about it, even told some websites that had my shows going that it wasn't going to keep going eventually. I had been getting more traffic from one of my slideshows on a store's website than from anywhere else. Guess they walked back on that one, thankfully I must say. Now if someone official could just tell me about badges... i.e. Why is mine still going? Did the decision change? If so, where's the Help info about how to make one...?

Yeah, I know. Like I said, mine (my badge, that is) still works too. I just don't know why. I'm not making stuff up-- They really did say it wasn't gonna last once Legacy was gone for good. Maybe Legacy hasn't absolutely completely died yet?

links to threads declaring the end of embeddable Flash Badges in New SmugMug
Here's the thread where Bonocore announced the end of Badges: http://dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=1905998&postcount=25 We were talking about this not that long ago, but I'm not sure if you ever saw my post here, again linking that thread (in which you too were commenting about the stated retirement of Flash badges)-- my post is post number 63 in this thread: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=253746&highlight=badge I know nothing more... only repeating what we were told. It's frustrating to not hear a word about this in recent months. Hoping an Admin will comment.

Both the Flash badges and Slideshows will continue to operate, for now. We stopped allowing you to create new badges but we haven't turned off the actual badge functionality at this time. We're also looking at migrating the Flash slideshows to the new HTML5 version at some point in the near future. We'll make sure all your old links redirect since we know many of you have been embedding/linking to them for years and we don't want those links to break. Once badges is shut-off, all the old links will break, as there is no replacement functionality in New SmugMug.

Legacy SmugMug is retired, and while some functionality may continue to work today or tomorrow, we are starting to shut them down and they'll stop working in the future.

Additionally, we're offering the new HTML5 embeddable code in the new Share Panel released last week. Looks like you found one of the feature improvements!

So is it true that the new "share" embed slideshows are not clickable (as the flash ones were?)? Or am I missing something?

Correct. This was a limitation that's partially caused by the conflict of running both Old SmugMug and New SmugMug. Retiring the Old SmugMug will pave the way for us to add in Clickable slideshow's.

I now have both Flash and HTML5 shows running now on Blog. The Flash show when clicked, goes to
the photo in the gallery. The HTML5 show doesn't click anywhere. I tried adding a link around it but
doesn't work. Anyway to add click to Link param in code?

BTW, both shows are running from an unlisted gallery with collected photos.

None of the New SmugMug Slideshows (including Carousel) are clickable due to some issues between Old SmugMug and New SmugMug. Now that Old SmugMug has retired we can start to work on making the Slideshow/Carousel clickable. I'd love to see it's going to happen sooner rather than later, but right now we have some other exciting things we're working on. It will happen at some point though. It drives me nuts that I can't click on a slideshow or the carousel.

Just checking, as I see different behavior in FF versus Chrome.

FF does this: for Share/HTML, the HTML is auto-highlighted, one has to do Ctrl+C. However if you want only the SRC portion of the code, the cursor can't achieve that, only the entirety highlights.

Chrome does this: Cursor can isolate all or part of the code to copy it.

Normally I'm in Firefox, so I was surprised when I could not choose only part of the text; that prompted me to check Chrome.

Both browsers, for me, always highlight the entire text.

Yes. The issue is if one wants to only highlight part of the text. I can't do that in Firefox. Firefox highlights the entire text and my cursor can't choose partial.

The way we built it, for all browsers, is that it always keeps the entire section highlighted. You can immediately copy it, paste it in somewhere else, then grab the portion you'd like. All browsers work the same, for me at least, on a Mac. 99.9 out of 100 times, people are grabbing the entire block of text.

Ah... okay, then, in Chrome it's working differently than you intend? Chrome will highlight everything, but, I can use the mouse and cursor to re-select partial. This is kind of nicer than Firefox. I love that the entire section highlights automatically, but, I have the option to re-do as partial.

The intention was to make it really easy for you to grab the entire block of text and copy it, since we couldn't do a "Copy" button without Flash. As long as each browser allows that to happen, we're happy. We didn't build it with the intention to go any further with the feature. If one browser adds functionality over another browser, that's great.
