Two photos that have little in common except that I took both yesterday. Criticism is always welcome.

I like both. The minimalist mode is working!

#1 didn't quite work for me, perhaps because there were too many items that drew my focus and not one magic spot. Just to be really picky... Had it been me and had I been alert/had time at the moment I took the shot (not always guaranteed...) I might have moved the large leaf on the right so that the stem of that smaller leaf wasn't covering the surface of that larger leaf.

    Loved #2!

    Cheers, Sara

Taz, Wayne, Sara, thanks. Sara, I think your criticism of the first is entirely valid, and I appreciate it.

The black-necked stilts in the second shot move too quickly for careful composition. I just kept clicking and later picked this one. A bit of luck.

The second one is very nice, and yes they do move quickly!

    Juano, Richard, thanks.

Yeah, these birds scoot! For someone who's generally wedded to a tripod, photographing them is a big change.

#2 is stunning! I love the *misplaced* reflection. Really made me look twice! Just perfect!! --Carter
