Gallery searches

Hello,

Say I have a gallery containing many photos, “some” of which have a specific Keyword.

When I search for that Keyword, the PHOTOS show up, but when I click on GALLERIES, THE GALLERY THEY ARE CONTAINED IN does not show up.

WHY? Is it supposed to? I would think so.

Much appreciated.

Galleries shows you galleries that contain the keywords from that search, but not the galleries that have photos with that. For example, If I search for "Yosemite", choosing "Photos" will give me all the photos I've tagged with yosemite. Clicking on "Galleries" will give me any gallery named or gallery metadata keyworded with "Yosemite". If I had put some Yosemite photos inside a "landscapes" gallery, that gallery will not show up in "Galleries" since it doesn't match the search phrase in name or gallery keyword.

Didn't the searches in the old SM work the way hadron described? It's been a while, and I don't use search that much, but I vaguely remember gallery searches producing more results than they do now.

Leftquark, thanks for your clarifications. Even though a global search might be a future enhancement, whereby a search term would find "hits" under photos, galleries, folders, etc.

    Another request...

I have created a MENU content block on my homepage which LINKS to a Search Page. When clicking on that link on the homepage, it brings up the standard Search box with the option to select: Photos, Galleries, Folders, etc.

Above the Search box, I provide for a link to take you back to the Home Page.

The problem is that I can not Insert a TEXT content block BETWEEN the Home Page link, and the search box. It wont allow it, and says that area is reserved. If you try to add a text content block, it puts it at the bottom on the page. Not good for me.

The reason of wanting a text block is to explain to my users how Search Works. Specifically, searches are relative to "where" you start the search on your site. If you dont start at the homepage, it will not find ALL Hits for searches.

Maybe the developers can look into that... or maybe this request ties in with the new development being mentioned.

I've added a text content block between your "Return to Home" and search boxes.

    Sorry, but it's not there??

Rather than making changes to my site, please let me know how to do it... Thanks

You must have overridden it at the same time I was adding it.

You're doing it properly. Drag the Text Content Block onto the "Go back to Home" content block, and then make sure the arrow points down, so it's below it. Should be fine to add.

    Thanks, it worked.

BTW, it seems to me that the selection of Photos, Videos, Galleries, etc. should be high lighted before doing the Search. Or am I missing something.
