Anonymising direct links?

Is there a way of providing a link to a photo but excluding any gallery and filename information?

I know I can can out the gallery section and keep just the last bit of the path, but even then, I still have the original filename. Is there a way of substituting that?

There are cases where I have taken photos for, say, Client A which I can share with Client B, but I don't want client B knowing it comes from Client A.

So for example, the URL is hxxp://photos.xavimages.co.uk/Folder1/Folder2/GalleryClientA/i-<key>/0/<size>/Photo-ClientA-<size>.jpg where Photo-ClientA- is the original filename.

I can reduce it to hxxp://photos.xavimages.co.uk/i-<key>/0/<size>/Photo-ClientA-<size>.jpg

But I'm still stuck with the ClientA / original filename.

Is there a way to share a direct link to a photo with a different name?

    Copy the share photo link when logged in, then change the front end like this and remove the file name.
    This is completely anonymous, no site or photo file name.

    to http://cdn.smugmug.com/photos/i-XXXXXX/1/M/M.jpg

    BTW /photos/ can be anything. /anything here/

    This works for my site
    http://cdn.smugmug.com/photos/i-4STs4gm/1/M/M.jpg

    but this for your site redirects? Perhaps I guessed on the /1/
    changed /1/ to /0/ and works
    http://cdn.smugmug.com/photos/i-6vRzKt9/0/M/M.jpg

    I wonder why I didn't think to try that. :)

    Out of interest, is there a thread / document / wiki / something that details all these technical details?

    When they recently redesigned the share box I tried to get them to add the anonymous photo
    link but they said they could not justify it.
