Is CPS taking advantage of me??

Nevermind. I realized what's up...CPS Gold says you get 5 cleanings per year. Turns out, these are external only, meaning they simply blow the dust off, wipe it with some shiny stuff and wipe the front and rear glass elements. Pretty much something my 2yr old grand daughter can do.

    ^ Pretty much my understanding for a basic cleaning, but I believe that it also includes checking the sensor for dust and, if necessary, cleaning the sensor to certain Canon standards. (However, if you have observed dust shadows in your images it's always a good idea to mention the fact of the dust and where you observed the dust in the image, including demonstrative images of the dust affectation.)

    If you need a more thorough cleaning I believe that service is called "Clean, Lubricate and Adjust", sometimes abbreviated to "CLA". I believe that service is chargeable but I recall their rates as fairly reasonable. thumb.gif
