Continuing our Journey, we gathered for a group shot of old friends.

Traveling 50 miles south to YNP, my main goal was to share one of my favorite NP's with 1st time visitors from Connecticut. We established a base in Gardiner MT at the north entrance, then set out to show off this beautiful park.

The Roosevelt Gate entry has recently been changed and you can now bypass the entry where traffic gets backed up as people pose for pictures, which also makes it safer for pedestrians.

As you head up the Gardiner River in route for Mammoth Hot Springs you will pass through a small canyon area that is a hang-out for Bighorn sheep.

#2 Camouflage.

Passing through The Park Headquarters area in Mammoth, you can generally count on a traffic jam due to the resident elk herd.

Heading east at the junction in Mammoth will take you out towards the Blacktail lakes and Blacktail Plateau

These 2 large bulls were tussling over who had access to a dust wallow.

#4 Bullfight. captured at a bit over 100 yards, with massive crop

Between the Blacktail Lakes and tower junction is a one way dirt road that 90% of the visitors pass by. There is great fall color on this road and I typically find good wildlife shots also.

Reconnecting with the main road we head for Tower Falls, just a ways past Tower Junction

To be continued.

Thank you for the comment. I need to start incorporating more people images, like you have on your post.
