Yesterday (April 9) I saw a Raven bullying a White-tailed Eagle. The Raven was very aggresive and pursued the eagle until both birds were out of sight. It was great watching that fearless Raven.

No. 1: The persuit starts.

No. 2: The Raven gets close.

No. 3: The Raven lands a very short moment on the back of the eagle.

No. 4: Taking off.

No. 5.

No. 6: The persuit continues.

No. 7.

Great series of images - I have seen black birds harass red tail hawks in a similar manner, but I've never gotten photos of it. Usually there are two blackbirds harassing a hawk. Not a single one.

    Well done!!

Many thanks. The birds of the crow family are very fearless in their attacks on birds of prey and I have often seen a single Hooded Crow attack White-tailed Eagle, Common Buzzard, Hen Harrier or Western Marsh Harrier.

It is kind of like watching fighter aircraft around bombers - the smaller aircraft can turn so much shorter and quicker, that the bombers just fly along being harassed by the fighters = that's what it always looks like to me.

Just like a Spitfire attacking a Focke-Wulf FW 200 Condor during World War II.

I'm flashing to the days when the Space Shuttle was getting brought back home on a 747. Opportune timing. :)

My reply was, that the raven from now on is called "Challenger" and it really is.
