The phone ap

Has anyone played with the phone ap yet ?
I'm having a look through it now and noticing that while the album/gallery title is visible - the descriptions are not. My descriptions tell the stories of my albums so obviously that's something I want visible.

This carries over to the albums I used as my blog - using the journal album view. So the album description field itself was my blog. I can't see any of this text at all on the phone ap.

Any tips on how to ensure the album/gallery descriptions are visible on the ap.

If it's YOU, you can see the description by editing the gallery settings (at least on Android, but I suspect they are the same on IOS).

If it is not you, I have not found any way to get them.

Do you think your viewers will use the phone app or will simply use the browser on their phone to access your site?

We find that most visitors will use the browser (Mobile Safari or Chrome), in which case the Gallery Description is displayed. If Cover Photo is ON, we'll display a few lines and then a "read more" button. If Cover Photo is OFF on the gallery, the entire description will be displayed.

Ahh ok - so what I am viewing in the mobile ap is different to what I will see if I open my account in safari on the phone ?

Is that why there appears to be no tools or anything to upload or edit photos in the mobile ap ? its more of a viewer only product ? So organising and editing should be done in the safari browser not the ap itself?

I will have a bit of a play with cover photo on vs off - thanks.

As it stands now, the app is mostly for viewing photos, correct. Though that could certainly change in the future

That's likely true, but didn't SM just announce the personalized apps for pros that are really just the phone app in a wrapper? I never tried it, but I would assume it's similarly limited in what it can show?

The mobile web apps are just the mobile web display (mobile safari or chrome) with all the browser UI hidden. It feels and looks like an app, but really is just a webpage.
