I'm please to announce that we've added Phone Cases to the SmugMug Store! You can now purchase or sell Android and iPhone cases for select phone types.

The cases come in two styles: Slim—a sleek, thin cover, and Tough—a rugged case for those who need more protection.

Cases are available for:
- Android Galaxy S7
- iPhone SE, 6, 6+, 6S, and 6S+

We'll add cases for the 7 and 7+ as soon as we have them available.

Phone cases will appear as their own category in the shopping cart.

- For Power and Basic accounts, it'll be available automatically as long as the shopping cart is turned ON for your gallery.

- For Portfolio and Business Accounts they are available to add to your Bay Photo, EZ Prints, and WHCC pricelists. Unfortunately Phone Cases are not available from Loxley. You'll want to Edit your Pricelist, add the Phone Cases, and then price them as you wish.

Printmarks will not be placed on Phone Cases. If you would like to ensure your mark is included on phone cases you sell, I'd recommend taking advantage of Proof Delay and replacing the photo with one that has a mark placed in an appropriate place to work well on the phone case.

... and just where in Edit Pricelist do we find the Phone Cases?

    Found it
go into a specific pricelist > edit Pricelist > click "Choose Product" button upper right.
At the bottom are the new items

Took a while as I clicked everywhere but this

I've had this problem with cards before and it's a major hindrance. The photo subject is too large to
fit in the select window. There is no way to shrink the photo/subject to fit, only expand.

That is what this thread is about, cases. When a photo is added there is no way to shrink it so a main
subject falls within the center image area. Only cropping is available. That pretty much eliminates most
portraits because top of head and feet are cut off.

The Phone Case cropping will let you "zoom out" to the full height of the photo (it starts that way, so it's not really "zooming out" but I couldn't come up with a better term). Since the Phone Cases are a different aspect ratio from our normal photos, this often results in Portrait photos having the left/right sides getting cut off. This is unavoidable due to the aspect ratio difference. In some cases the top of head/feet will get cut off due to the edge masking required to ensure the photo fits properly on the case (it wraps over the edges).

If we allowed you to shrink it beyond its full height you'd end up with parts of the case not having photo on it, which isn't what you'd want.

As you can see here, everything fits without needing to "shrink it". Shrinking the photo would result in blank space on the case:

Am I misunderstanding something? Perhaps you can show me with a photo of yours that would need to be shrunk?

At this time our vendor only offers Galaxy S5 and S7 cases. If they add S8 cases we would consider adding them for SmugMug'ers as well.

Hello! Upon updating my items available for sale, I noticed that Android cases are no longer an option to provide to my clients however there is quite the list of iPhone cases available. Are you going to be adding the Android cases back to the list to be available and if so, when? I ordered an iPhone case for my phone recently (which I LOVE!) so that I can market the product to my clients however without the Android option available, that limits my sales. Please advise. Thank you!
