Hi - I think you can move it, but the problem is when the main image in the gallery is of different heights, then the button is going to not be relative to that.
The relevant CSS rule for that element (and the button beside it) is:
In collage portrait mode, the buy button appears underneath the photos in the form of a discreet shopping cart. I'd love for it to look like that in SmugMug default mode.

The buy button in collage portrait mode is at the top of the photos in the header section of the page. It's shown underneath the photo once the viewer clicks to open the photo larger in lightbox. This happens in SmugMug style as well once the large photo is clicked to enter lightbox.
That's interesting! For me, in collage portrait mode the shopping cart is always visible underneath the photo (i.e. not only in lightbox). To have it that way in SmugMug default mode would be my preference, and to then be able to remove the large button at the top of the gallery.

I don't think it's possible, but can you post your site.

I'd also love it if this were possible. Any ideas?

.sm-gallery-cover-buttons[data-alignment="bottom"] {

You also have to think about how it will look on mobile devices when you make those changes.
Torn between cycling and photography!
