    1 and 4 are my favorites, specially 1, I like how the main subject is not in the cloud of smoke while everyone else is.

    1,2 & 3 are part of the largest significant Buddist Temple in in Tibet on the Dali Lamas birthday, there were thousands walking around the temple with beads

    He wasn't there because the Chinese government forbids him from being there

    The smoke is huge pots burning incense

    I don't have any credible info on the fabric and recent newspaper monument, but flags have a religious significance that I am unaware of
