Login and stay for a few days

On many spots on the web there is a ‘remain’ logged in setting. If SmugMug has it I haven’t been able to find it. Over the years I have become accustomed to needing to log in the first time I access SmugMug each day, but it seems to happen more and more often during the day. My browsers do have the log in saved and all I need to do after clicking log in on SmugMug is to click the popup, but. During the past couple of weeks I have been leaving the browser open so that I can upload client images to galleries that I have set up for them. I believe it was Thursday of last week that I needed to log in six times. I click on the open page only to be told that I needed to enter the password for the gallery. I would then go to the top and log in again and it would be fine. Is there any way that the constant need to log in could be changed. I am not clearing the cache when I quit the browser and all of the sites that I have clicked 'remain logged in' do so. I have tried Safari, Opera, and Google with the same results on all. Just wondering.

Thanks,

Jerry

This has been an ongoing issue for several years for me & others, but I agree-- in the past few weeks I'm never staying logged in anymore. And I've noticed that the phrase is not actually "Keep me logged in"...it's instead "Remember me", which is a different thing entirely. I don't know if that phrase has changed, but since I'm absolutely unable to stay logged in now anytime I leave my site, I've thought about that phrase. And yes, it's happening on all 3 of the browsers I have access to: FF, Explorer, Chrome; and with 2 different OS - Windows 7 & 10. No matter what I've been doing on my site, or how/when I leave it, I'm not staying logged in. Not on a laptop, desktop or tablet. My phone is sometimes logged in. I'd given up on getting this fixed, but now that it's worse than ever, I'm going to be a real pest until it gets fixed. And yes, I always have "Remember me" checked. And I think FF is the only one where it actually remembers me (has the boxes filled in) but I still have to hit a button to get in! To make things more annoying, the only way to find "Log In" on most pages is to scroll way down to the very bottom of the page-- very nasty in any larger "Collage Style" galleries which keep loading huge images as I'm simply trying to reach the "Log In" link. Please, SmugMug, at the very least, put "Log In" at the very top of each page.

Wow, no love on this at all, huh, Jerry? Nothing has changed for me since your post-- In other words, I'm constantly getting logged out when I leave my site & almost never staying logged in, even though I want to always be logged in unless I expressly log out. I'm sorry no one has responded. Things seem very dead around here.

Just a suggestion. Now that Smugmug has purchased Flicker ask them how they keep people logged in. I signed up for Flicker years ago and haven't even posted a image, but when I went to check today to see if the layout had changed since being purchased I was already still logged in. So, like I said, you might want to ask them how they do it and then replicate it for Smugmug.

Wow, Jerry-- We still haven't heard a peep in this thread. Years & years later, & I'm still having this problem of being logged out against my will. I've lost hope that it'll ever get fixed. There's no consistency to how, when, or how frequently or infrequently I get logged out, & no consistency in what I was doing on my site before it happens. It rarely happens during a session. Just later... I come back, & have to log in. Often when I go to download one of my own photos, I get a blank GIF, because I'm logged out (without my choosing) & didn't realize I was logged out. Sigh. I've wasted so much "breath" over it through the years.
