Nice comp, Richard. That'd make a dandy B&W conversion, I'd think. Also, the center vaguely reminds me of a peace symbol.

I think the color works well here. I like the red circle that would be lost in bw.

Thanks David and Cristóbal. It does look good in B&W but I liked the red and the subtle color variations in the center. Here's a slightly different comp in B&W:
    2.

There was no red in this one, so that didn't matter. I prefer the composition of the first one.

Good stuff, Richard. I also prefer the color version.

Very nice. I really like the color version and composition. I have a habit of dialing in on the details like this, when I can't get a good shot of the whole thing. B)

Well, OK, I guess I like them both.

EDIT: I see they're in your color and B&W galleries. Nice!

I like the subdued color's contrast with the bright red in no 1 , Richard

I gotta say, I love the color version, the rich-toned dark reds and the subtle browniish/yellowish colors of the grease or weathring that give it that 'mechanical' feel. The colored version is pretty much perfect, it really grabs the eye... Just my humble opinion...
