Problems posting to Facebook

When I go to organize and highlight the photo and share it to facebook and pick my page that I want to share to, I process it and it say its processing, but nothing is happening. I have done it several times this morning. Is there a problem on SmugMug side of this?

Thanks

I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news in regard to the Publish to Facebook tool.

Facebook changed their API, and required users to go through an approval process to use it going forward. For our tool to gain their approval would have required some significant development time, and our product development team made the difficult decision not to make those updates at this time. The "Publish to Facebook" icon is still in the Organizer, but is does not function.

You can of course still share photos to Facebook by adding the link to the photo to a Facebook post.

This was one of the huge plus of smugmug. Very disappointed in this call. No way this will change?

I, too, use this one all the time, it saves me a lot of work. You guys ARE going to work on it, right?

Ok, I just spent a couple hours trying to publish a gallery to Facebook. In the Organizer, the "share" icon never showed up. Please put some kind of note to users that this function won't work now. l wasted all that time trying to figure out if something was wrong in my settings. So, what about the other "Share" functions that show up under each photo when inside a gallery (not in the organizer). Can that method still work on FaceBook? I don't see a way to really share a whole gallery that way, just an individual photo. In other words, I'm asking if there's any other way at all, through SmugMug, to get a few thumbnails from a gallery to show up on a FaceBook Timeline (or Page, if we have one) as a gallery? Or a way that would lead people to the gallery via some thumbs...not just one photo?

Bump. Would like an answer to my post above, so that I can quickly share a gallery on FB. I'd rather not put the whole gallery on FB itself, but would like more than one photo from the gallery to appear in my Timeline post. Please advise. I agree with the post-ers above-- this was one of the best features of SmugMug at one time, & I sure hope you'll see the importance of it & find a way to bring it back to a better-functioning state.

    You can:
    1) still share a link to your gallery or photo by using the Share icon or pasting the URL into Facebook

    2) upload the photos directly from your computer to Facebook

I know this is frustrating but for now the other option has been removed.

I'm sure you guys are aware, but uploading individually will take those of us who use Smugmug and Facebook side by side at least ten times as long and a whole bunch more steps, and that could be a whole lot worse for folks who used that feature heavily. I know it will take work to fix, but interfacing with other sites is a really useful part of Smugmug that frankly hasn't had as much attention as it should have had in the past, and should be a big part of Smugmug moving forward. What awesome features do you have in development that will be more important to us than seamless integration with all of the other places we all want our images to be displayed? Facebook and other major social media hubs aren't going away any time soon, I think it's pretty important for Smugmug to be MORE integrated with them, rather than less! Smugmug is still the best place for all of us to keep our images for a number of reasons, but Smugmug can't stand all alone with ties severed in an internet that is increasingly cross-connected between different websites and services. If you make yourself an island, there WILL come a time when it's better to go someplace else.

I don't understand? Without scroll bars there would be no way to look at any photo larger then the window size.

Very disappointed in the decision to remove this feature!

I made a feature request in the proper forum for it. I'd love it if Smugmug gained features, rather than slowly losing them over time!

I would have used this again today to transfer 20 photos with captions from my Smugmug to a volunteer organization's Facebook page. I miss it.
