Hawaiian Kolea

This is the Hawaiian Kolea, otherwise known as Pacific Golden Plover. During the breeding season, the white band from eye to breast is present. Non-breeding plumage omits the white band, leaving the entire bird golden. All the books tell me these little ones are migratory, wintering here on Maui, or passing through to New Zealand. However, those book writers must not hang out here during summer much, because I seem them all year.

What a pretty bird! Love the bokeh of flowers in the fg as well!

However, top has too many dark blobs making it busy and distracting.

Would crop maybe an inch or tad over....it does need top but not all that. Cheers
