I have not knowingly seen Darters mating before. These were on my third visit to the Decoy Heath reserve, in the afternoon, after a dragon-free morning.

The bluish background is reflection off the water. The blurred verticals are reed stems. The pair settles on a plant on the far side of the rushes and I has to shoot through gaps. The blurred verticals are OOF rush leaves.

The stereos are crosseye.

Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Panasonic 100 - 400mm Leica DG Vario-Elmar at 400mm 1/100 at f11 hand held.
