Pixel app on Facebook

When I logged onto SmugMug, there was a pop-up that said we could put a code on our Facebook business page. I followed the step, 'event manager, then click on 'Pixel tab'. Nothing. So then I clicked on the other link, and it took me to a Facebook that was supposed to help me set up the pixel. It said to name it something I could remember. After that I was lost, because it's a code, but I don't know what the code is.

If the pixel was successfully created, you should see a screen that looks like this in the Facebook Event Manager. The code to copy will be displayed at the top (in the green box we've drawn in the screenshot). All you have to do is click on the code and it'll get copied to your clipboard, so you can then paste it to SM.

I am not even seeing an "events manager" link. I see Events, but when I click on it, there is nothing that says "events manager". How did you get to the page you are showing, above? You said something about the 'pixel being successfully created', I don't even know how to create the pixel, or is it created somewhere else?

If you are logged into Facebook and your Facebook business page, then following the steps in our help page, https://help.smugmug.com/use-facebook-pixel-with-smugmug-HJp563L1r,
will take you to this page, https://www.facebook.com/business/help/952192354843755, there is a click through to the Events manager. The steps should help you get things set up. If you have further trouble contact the Support Heroes.

    Hi @SuzPhotos,
Facebook sure doesn't make it easy to create or use Facebook Pixels. I'd hate for you to go through all this trouble creating one and linking it to SmugMug if it won't be of use to you. How do you intend to use the Facebook Pixel once you've got it setup on SmugMug?

I still don't have it set up. It was my understanding that with that pixel it would drive more business from Facebook to the SmugMug account. No, it hasn't been easy. I had to get away from it for awhile. Too frustrating to keep going.

Creating a pixel is the first step of many to driving traffic to your SmugMug site. Once the pixel is created, you can use it to create target audiences for running future Facebook Ads. For example, you could ask Facebook to run ads to people who visited your site, attempting to get them to come back to your site. But Facebook requires you to pay for those ads, and you’ll want to ensure you understand why you want those viewers to come back and what you want them to do when they come back.
