Made a quick trip in June, out to Montana and back to see some friends and family.

First stop headed east, the Palouse.

1 The cottonwood. I wanted to shoot this from a different perspective, but the other area was packed with approximately 20 other photogs, from two workshops.

2 The town of Steptoe, from Steptoe Butte.

3 Near Whitehall MT.

4 Absaroka Mountains, Near Mallards Rest on the Yellowstone River

5 Crazy Mountains, near Wilsall Montana

6 Flathead Creek Rd.

7 Absaroka Range, The yellowstone, running high. Cell phone image

Glad to see the cottonwood is still there and it hasn't changed. Nice series!

That's some seriously good work, pard. Really outstanding. I like each one but that second image just won't turn me loose.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm trying to get out more, and work on capturing the scenery of the west. So many places to go and see.

    Hi Phil,

love these shots, especially 1, 2 & 7. For my taste, numbers 5 & 6 were a bit too heavy on the vibrance/saturation - and also perhaps dehaze.

Thanks Jim. The first two are in the Palouse area, of Washington state. There are a great many photo opportunities if you have some time to explore the area.

Grand skies indeed. For the most part Montana never fails for Big Sky.

Thanks Sara. I love the Palouse area. I can, and have spent days wondering over there. It is a totally different landscape, during harvest season.

For me it's a fine line between to much and not enough saturation, and vibrance. Most days, I am trying to balance what I like, and what is expected these days.
