Confused by photo and gallery stats

I don't understand my gallery and photo stats. I just started and I am doing very little promotion of my photos outside of SmugMug, yet I get hundreds of views on my best photos every day. Even more for some photos. The host tracking isn't helpful, I don't see really any hosts except for dark web sites. I asked SmugMug support about this and they didn't know. I don't think this is some kind of scraping bot because the views gravitate towards better photos.
Any ideas or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I have activated Google Analytics and should have some information from that source in a couple days.

It's been like that forever. Whatever those "stats" are showing, it's not views by real people. I see no value in those numbers.
You can, however, connect Google Analytics and see what's really going on.
