Moving Photos from one Gallery to Another

I have just spent a frustrating hour trying to figure out how to simply move a dozen or so photos from an old gallery to a new gallery I just created. All the answers I find apply to moving photos around (arranging them) within the same gallery or moving whole galleries. I'd really appreciate step-by-step instructions as everything I can find on the subject is ten years old and obsolete. Thanks.

    Okay, I am an idiot. I had created a folder for both Galleries but accidentally created a subfolder instead of a second Gallery, so of course I couldn't move the photos that way. I have now created a Gallery to which I can simply drag and drop the photos I want to move, as I expected to be able to do. Silly me. :/
