Uploading directly from iOS strips metadata from photos

Hi, I'm not sure if this is a HEIC conversion issue or iOS, but when uploading from iOS Safari, no matter if "Actual Size" is selected, the resulting upload will be stripped of all metadata.

Using the Smugmug iOS app the upload is perfect and all metadata is in place.

This is an issue because I send upload links for my galleries to friends and family to upload their photos from events to my gallery. They cannot use the Smugmug app for this, so when they upload via Safari, all of the photos have no metadata. The biggest issue with this is sort order for events when sorting by date and time (since no date and time exist in the photos).
