I had been trying to do shots of this event called "Dance Theater" - big dance and multimedia event at a local high school. I was trying to stop the action on stage. I've shot this event for a number of years and had good success. But very dark sets this year! Finally I gave up on stopping the action and tried to capture the feeling of movement.

    Thanks!

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Since we seem to have moved to fishy images, I have to admit that my #2382 is not a fish you'd find in any ocean.ne_nau.gif

This guy was hanging from the ceiling of the New York Museum of Natural History. I cut him out from his background and added a blue-green gradient background. I hadn't noticed, when I uploaded the image to Smugmug a few weeks ago, that new background shows bands of color rather than a smooth gradient. I'll have to take a closer look in Photoshop. headscratch.gif

Thanks Eric. It was high ISO plus a little PS work. I was using fast glass but there wasn't much light.

Great one, Ben. That's how the Xmas season has me feeling just about now. (And I can tell I'm not the only one.)

Really, great moment, great framing, really really funny moment. Gotta love it.

Thanks Rutt for your comments on the sledding picture. The kids sure had a good time that day trying to hit me. They succeeded a few times too, while I was looking in the viewfinder!

Now a "repeat" question! Has anyone found an easy way to know what you've already posted, so you won't be a "repeater"? Do we need to keep a file of posted images?

    Thanks!

Try this, go to page one and in advanced search put in your user name, put in
at least 999 posts. Tricky, but I got it to work evently.

I spent about 2 hrs working up every bird I found today. Boring things, I didn't even frame them, but I was going to be ready!
