Dover AFB Air Show - May 2022

Last Saturday we went to the Thunder over Dover air show at Dover AFB. It was stinking hot, but we had a great time at the air show! It's rare for the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels to perform at the same show, but we got a treat this weekend!

The B-2 looks like it is from another world, but it is actually from Whiteman AFB, Missouri.

This C-47 flew on D-Day and is now owned by the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport on Long Island. I've been a volunteer at the museum for many years, although I guess I'm more 'inactive' these days since I don't live on the Island now.

They teamed up with an Air Force C-17 for the USAF Cargo Heritage Flight

Super work, John. Really well done. That #2 shot is as good as I've ever seen of planes flying that maneuver. As you say, it's rare to see both of these teams performing at the same show.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Wonderful! Especially liking #4, with the Blue Angels just above the parked Thunderbirds. Perfect timing on your part to get that composition! 👍👍

Very nice images (framing, composition, clarity) and great aircraft.

Thanks for sharing these and for providing a glimpse of some super aircraft.

Very nice. It looks as if the lighting conditions are good at that airshow.
