Ok, here is my first post for your comments.

I had a chance to use a photography studio for the first time, and this is one of the pohtos I took.

I use Canon EOS 300 D

I like the idea alot but I don'y care for the selective coloring
or that we can't see her face. Just my personal preference. Welcome to Dgrin!

like 4labs I really do like the idea--

however, I also like selective coloring to some degree--

personally (that means that I might be the only one), I think on a portrait with selective coloring you need to give the flesh some tone; maybe use your color range on the original flesh, move it over and drop the opacity--
the stark b/w flesh against color is almost a clash, in my mind--

    anyway, neat shot--

    very nice shot!

I like selective coloring to a degree - but not sure about her hair. When I first looked at the photo, my eye went directly to her hair for some reason...

Why were you shooting at 1/30?

    1/30
I just played around, and did what the camera light meter told me to do

1/30 is any situation is just asking for blur.

I tend to stick around 1/250 in the studio, unless I want some motion blur. I usually plug in my ISO and shutter speed and then it tells me what aperture to shoot at with what I have the lights set at.. I usually aim for about 5.6 as well.
