Very cool - I alread have the background papers in white, black, and silver. I need to go to Lowes tomorrow.

I will use the Flashpoint strobes rather than the tungsten lighting.

    Cool thread.

    Path . . ., quick question . . .

How are the flashpoint strobes? Adorama, right? Wondering about Alien Bees but just noticed the Flashpoint units in a Shutterbug add. And which models do you have?

    I don't mean to thread hijack - just wondering . . .

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

I bought the Flashpoint 620 Wedding kit from Adorama. Two studio flashes Flashpoint 620, two 10 foot light stands, 2 shoot through umbrellas with removeable black covers, and a nylon carrying case. As you mentioned, they are advertised in almost every issue of Shutterbug. They are manufactured in China and have replaceable strobe lights and modelling lights which are carried at Adorama. They also sell a 1220 and an 1820 versions I believe. They have built in light triggering sensors, and infinitely adjustable strobe light output.

I have been pleased with them to date.

I built a light tent as described above by DanielB with 3/4 inch PVC pipe, and used it to shoot some shots of some gear I was offering for sale. I used a light blue seamless background paper, and a single Flashpoint 620 stage left with a white reflector stage right and captured these iamges...

I bought the OM-4T in late 2000 - just at the beginning of the digital revolution. Still such a nice little piece of glass that I have not decided to part with it.

The FM3a is the Nikonian equivalent - also a very lovely piece of work.

I left the dark side when I bought a 10D, so I am slowly divesting my holdings in the Nikon world, and the FM3a and the Tamron 24-135 are the few remaining pieces left to market.

How were the product photos? The light tent worked nicely I thought.
