From the Prologue in San Francisco and Stage One which went from Sausalito to Santa Rosa. I still need to adjust some cropping and level issues. Here are a few.
All shot with a Canon 10D, 550EX, 70-200 f/4 and Tamron 17-35 f/2.8

Should be a great time. Well received race so far.

Some from one of the BMW boards look to have had nice access and a
couple of shots here and there...

    Jeff

I live just north of San Francisco, so it was a short drive to get to the Prologue, and even shorter to Sausalito.
I work in Berkeley, some co-workers went to watch them go by during yesterdays stage.
Today my girlfriend drove down to the TT in Santa Rosa.
It's a small taste of The Tour (de France) right here in our backyards.

Your luck might improve later this year.
Santa Rosa may end up hosting what was the San Francisco G.P. in September. It's a real shame the infighting in the city ruined what was by far one of the best bike races in the country.
    Glad you liked the images....

Great shots! I went to Stage 3 today and fired off some shots. Haven't had time to look at many of them, but here's Levi Leipheimer:

Yeah, Baldy and I went out and spent the morning on the time trial course, it was a lot of fun having a race of this caliber in our area. :) I didn't have the lense for that kind of shooting... though it sure tempted me to go get one. :)

Thanks to all you left-coaster for picking up where TV left me high and dry on this event. I was hoping maybe it'd get some coverage, being such a big inaugural race, but nooooo.

Great shots, nice work guys thumb.gif

Are you sure you don't get it? It's on ESPN2 in the wee hours of the AM here...I assumed that was the same everywhere. I'd heard the race sponsors bought the ESPN coverage so it should be on wherever ESPN is broadcast. Unless you don't have cable...then I can't do nuttin' for ya. :):

I do have cable, but admit to not digging around too much for it. Onscreen guides drive me nuts after about 11 seconds. I looked at OLN and when I didn't see it there, I put the '96 Tour in and pedaled it out of my head (basement trainer time).

    1AM again:

Coverage has been ok...better than nada.

When Lance when down on Luz Ardiden in 03 from the musette I was on rollers in the basement...I about crapped my pants and went right down with him. Gotta watch out with the live Tour action and rollers.
