Caption Editing

I will start a new gallery out with "Filenames" set to yes, so that if I don't have a caption I have a filename with each photo to identify it with. I like this, but when I go to edit captions, I'd like the filename to be the default caption that I go off and edit. This way I can easily keep the file name (if I want to) in the new caption.

I would like to second that suggestion! At least, _Show_ the file name somewhere on the edit page.

AHA, GMTA--I just posted to that effect in another message thread.

Otherwise I have to keep two windows open and arranged AND not make a mistake while bulk captioning. My customer communication totally depends on those image numbers, especially when a customer is reviewing a proof gallery--then they want to compare to the edited gallery before ordering.

    TIA,
    Lynne

We just changed captions to include a reference to the filename. Here's more info: http://www.smugmug.com/help/web-photo-album .

It isn't exactly what you asked for, but we're hoping it accomplishes what you were hoping to? You get a reference to it so you know what it is and it can still be used as the default caption if you don't type a different one in the box.

But it has the advantage of still being there if you do type your own caption.

Let us know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Baldy
