Challenge 23 Sam's Time

I am not sure this will qualify, but when I saw the challenge subject this is (kinda sorta) what flashed through the vast empty recesses of my brain.

    OK, I come down here just to feel good before I go to bed, and I see this fantastic creation for the time Challenge.

    Good going, Sam. Andy go get some more cats and stuff in his neck of the woods.

    Bed time here, eary risen' time, tennis play time tomorrow.

    Geez, I just don't believe it. But Sam, I do have a question, is there any reason it wouldn't qualify? :D

    Only decent landscapes I got tonight were sunsets. Gonna have to get me a pack mule to carry that tripod.

    Wow, impressive shot. Is that the horse head nebula I see? Taking astrophotographs is a real challenge esp. to get those colors requires some good tracking with a telescope with a pretty stable drive. I've yet to get anything much with my C90-ETX, (even with the computer controller) getting a good setup for long exposure shots really needs a darker full sky envionment than I have near home.

    Very nice work, be curious what equipment you used.

    OH boy...........
    Self1: How do I tell them? Self 2, be honest, straight forward, and gentle. Self1: But.....But......a little sarcasm, just a teeny weeny bit? Self 2: NO! Self 1: I could tell them Atnod from Alpha Centura took the photo.... Self 2: NO! Self 1: Just the truth then? Self 2: Yes

    Ok, I have talked it over with the spoil sport, and here is the facts. Yes, it is the Horse Head Nebula, some guy nammed Hubble with a little outfit called NASA took the star photo. I took the clock photo.

    I never in a million years would have thought anyone would think I took the star photo. Sorry..:cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry

    Yeah, SaM...

    I kinda figured that there was no way "on earth" you'd have the equipment to shoot the nebula... [Relief....] (I used to shoot cadavers and lab specimens...The specimens through a microscope...It is fun, but expensive...) But um, SaM... I kinda think that using the NASA - Hubble shot might be cheating a bit?.!?.!

    That's why I started this off with " I am not sure this will qualify". I thought everyone would know, I didn't / couldn't have actually taken the Horse Head nebula. I just did it for fun. It's what wandered into to the open abyss called my mind.

    Now that you have made me feel bad, I'm gona go eat worms.

    idea: sam, put your cam on a tripod tonight or any of the next few nights, get a mess of stars, mess with the levels to brighten them up, and do the same technique with the timepieces ...

    have them hold the challenge till you get back from D Valley stars you will have yell artistic privilege and post it Laughing.gif idea was good shot was great it was just that dam horse i really like the comp.

    I too think that it was a great composition, deffinately says "Time" with a capitol "T". I'd be inclined to allow it for "compositional excellance"rolleyes1.gif

    Shots like that are not just equipment but a lot of time and patience, a steady hand and long guide time with your eye glued to the off axis eye peice to compensate for drift etc. etc.

    I agree if you can shoot and change the color the angle the position remove and replace then this shot is in its self very good art

    Awesome
    It may have been "cheating", but it is an AWESOME image. This coming from a guy who doesn't normally like photoshop'd images. Showed great creativity in composition, and fit the time theme so well. Made me think of eons. Thanks for sharing it.

    Thanks for all your kind words. I understand that this won't qualify, and that is fine. I had a vision (without chemical assistance), was able to get close to it, and wanted to share.
