The whole family. Heavily cropped and shot from across the Intracoastal Waterway on the shore (no boat on this one). Could have used Steve's 500mm :uhoh :D

Thanks for looking. Hope to work up the other couple hundred shots of the ospreys in the area. (3 nests.). Easier to shoot than PP. These need some work/help in that matter ...also. :cry

Thanks Harry. Exposure would be easier if we could control the sun and the birds. :D

Thanks Bill. Glad you had some time to stop in and take a look. They are not eagles...but I'm fast becoming fond of these amazing birds. I'm starting to maybe even think they are more attractive than the baldies. headscratch.gif They are quite regal with their white boots, crown and all.

Thanks Snappy. Action/flight shots are extra fun for me. It's kind of like hunting without the blood shed...ammo..noise..fear of shooting yourself. eek7.gif :uhoh :D

Thanks Jeff. Nope.....didn't get that 300/400mm yet. Still shooting with the trusty 200mm with 1.4x TC. :cry Good thing I can get close to the nests. They are located right in the middle of the waterway...next to all the boat traffic. The birds are not bothered by close approaching photogs. :D Hope to have some new glass soon. Too many other things taking my money away from the camrea fund (food/utilities etc. Laughing.gif).

Cool shooting of your new pets! No, that doesn't sound nice, I know you have worked at getting those shots for what seems like months!

I like the 5th one where the bird is looking at you, but the others are great captures! Best shots of baby Ospreys that I have seen!

Definitely....but that "L" glass doesn't taste real good..even grilled with onions & garlic. I guess it's part of the price we pay to shoot. :D

Thanks Russ. It does seem like a lot of work...feeding 3 huge chicks. The parents are amazing fisherbirds. A couple times I've seen them just make a short little circle about 40' out from the nest....casually swoop down to the water..and grab a good sized fish. I don't have that kind of luck when I go out fishing. They are making me look bad. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks Ginger. Awful nice of you to say. I appreciate it.

I've been going out shooting these osprey for over a month now. It's amazing how fast and large these chicks grew. they have not flown yet..but I imagine since they are flapping their wings in the nest....it won't be long. I hope I'm there to capture them flying.

#5 creeps me out. That being said I love birds of prey. They are beautiful and very efficient with what they do. I love to watch them work.

He knew I was taking his mug shot. It is kind of creepy when they look right into your eyes. Wonder what they are thinking. Thanks for looking.
