    I have to put a lot more attention into looking for them than for photos most of the time.

    What type is it ..dangerous ?

    it's a gopher snake, non-venomous and fairly placid. They us a great service by keep rodent populations in check. Great observation.

    We only have one type of venomous snake in my area... Rattle Snake. I was so close before I saw him that I wasn't worried. I know Rattlers, you hear them before you see them.
