Well this isn't Birds or Pretty Flowers but one of natures check balances I guess.
I hate these things but I'm sure the Birds love to eat em.

Damn Tent Catipillars.....they can defoliate a deciduous tree in a matter of of a coupla weeks!

They are a local PITA for a coupla months!!

    I hate them. When I see them on my fruit trees, I blast the tents with wasp spray before the buggers get out. Wasp spray has a narrow high velocity and really sinks into the tent. For extra credit, you can poke a hole in the tent first. They writhe for a while, then croak before they get a chance to defoliate your tree. It works very well. :gun2

    Ugh
    I'm not afraid of worms or caterpillars or anything, but seeing them in that large swarming mass makes me cringe!

    No lie....at nite you can actually hear their po hitting the ground and munching in a BIG Oak that
    is infested with em!!
