Very nice detail!!! What created the color shift in the backgrounds? All 3 are basically the same shot, but have entirely different colored backgrounds. Was this intentional? Just curious! :D

    Hi,

Thanks. Different angles with different (far off) background. I varied the angle - wasn't sure what would come out best.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice series Hawkman. thumb.gif I've been chased by these little monsters while fishing...years ago. Don't see many around here...but the nasty grackles will chase you just as bad. Especially during breeding season. :uhoh

Wonderful work Gene! The real question is how much will you be charging for your seminar on exposure:Dthumb.gif

You must have been near their nest. They build nests hidden in the reeds around lakes. I saw one attack a Great Egret I ws trying to shoot yesterday when the Egret got to close to its nest.

    It's free, rolleyes1.gif

It is easy to expose if you get the right light on the subject. I almost always shoot in the late afternoon or morning and with the sun to my back. Getting a background that is not too far off from the subject also helps if you are using evaluative (I usually use evaluative as I have learned when and how much to EC it).
