The Los Angeles Museum of Natural History has a Butterfly exhibit on it's lawn, and here are a few pictures to share with you. If you live in the area it's a fun afternoon shoot. Enjoy.

This first one is my very favorite of the day

Really nice exposures, Dallas! Nice variety of butterflies....is this an on-going exhibit, or is it over?

What they said. Wonderful series and beautiful color. Sometimes they are hard to catch and you did a great job.

Nice series William. thumb.gif Butterflies are very interesting. That 7th one..is Florida's state butterfly, the zebra longwing. I see these in the yard all the time. I'm afraid they don't grill up as nicely as egret...but chocolate covered..they are not too bad. :uhoh :D

I don't think it is an ongoing event, but I believe it will be there at least another month, you could call the Museum and ask. I used a Nikon 105 Macro, but there's room to back up a little if necessary, and the light is like being outside, so check the weather. Also it's not crowded during the week, as you know an important factor.

What a supprise I should be attracted to the zebra. When I walked in they were the first to catch my eye, so I guess I must have recalled my childhood without knowing it. I don't know about chocolate, that only works for me on ants. Maybe flash freezing would make them tasty.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Super shots, William. Perfect exposures and razor sharp. You've really captured the essence of these gorgeous little critters.

I love my 105mm macro, and that was a good day for it to shine. Of course the little subjects were helpful. Thanks Joel
