Very nice set of shots. I like the last one best, but it seems like something is missing. I think it might just be the fact that I know the ladybug looks wrong in B&W. Any chance you could make the whole image B&W except for the ladybug? That could look pretty cool.

I would say you did a good job for not knowing what you are doing. I dont have a lue how to do this. Just thought it would look cool and it does.

I opened the original color image.

Then I opened the BnW image

I selected ALL on the BnW and then edit/copy

Then I selected the color image and hit edit/paste

Then I went to the layer palet and reduced the opacity of the top layer (BnW) so I could see through it.

Then I used the move tool to line the 2 images up.

Then I went back to the layer palet and increased the opacity back to 100 percent.

Then I used the crop tool to cut the 2 layers to the same size.

Then I used the eraser tool to erase the BnW bug, exposing the colored one underneath.

Then I flattened the layers and saved it.

Maybe it is because you know so little on this stuff that I can't figure out what you did from adam.

Somehow I thought it was easier than that. No wonder it looks so good.

g (must have a lot of know how re layers)

    a little easier method?
    • new adjustment layer - channel mixer
    • choose 50,50,0, and check the monochrome box
    • now grab a fat, soft brush and click on the layer mask icon
    • make sure your foreground color is black
    • size the brush appropriately for the bug
    • paint over the bug, the color will return
    • fine tune with smaller brushes
    • that's it
