Now we'll never know: I practically missed it.
I caught only a glimpse of what seemed to be *the* best sunset during my 5+ years of dwelling in the area. :cry

Oh well, here it is, for what it's worth: last five minutes...

It was 8:10 or 8:15 when I realized what I'm missing , it took me less than 5 minutes to get to my favorite sunset point...

Unfortunately, the clouds like that are extremely rare in our area at sunset time. I'm afraid we'd have to wait another 5+ years for something linke this to happen again..ne_nau.gif

    Very cool shot!

Well, Angeles Crest seems to be a more cloud-happy area. Here in TO they are, well, a rare find...

I feel your pain. :cry When I was visiting Glacier National Park, I just missed an incredible sunrise. I left my cabin at 4:15 to try and get to the park by 5:15. As I got close, I could see the most incredible colors in the mountains by the entrance. I was still 15 minutes away, though, and knew I'd miss the sunrise. I settled for this shot instead, but was majorly bummed:

Even though you didn't get the best light, it's still a beauitful set of pictures.

I don't know - looks pretty good, but yeah, it would have been nice to have more time there. I understand the feeling, with the fire burning just over the mtns out here, we've been getting some good sunsets too - I saw the tail end of an awesome one as I was driving out of the grocery store 2 nights ago:cry It was a beauty and I have a new 10-22 wa lens just waiting for an opportunty like that. Though I'm not hoping for more fires, they do provide nice photographic opportunities.

Now, any one else see the sharks head in this shot:D
