Photography Resume

I am applying for a job with a local news paper and am doing up my resume and cover letter. Here is what I have so far.

Grammar.

"I am currently using a Canon 30D DSLR and are greatly experienced with digital photography and the manipulation of various digital formats."

It's pretty good. You mention customer service over and over, an unusual thing in a newspaper photog application. Did they mention it in their want ad?

Your "experience" is unusual as well. Have you considered something along the lines of People (with examples), City scenes (with examples), Indoors (with examples) Landscapes (with examples) flash (with examples) and Sports (with examples?

In other words, figure out what they need, and show them you can handle it?

And... please, please, please take this as constructive criticism...

You want a potential employer's first impression of you to be that of a hardworking, talented, and intelligent individual who is not afraid to do whatever it takes to get the job right.

Your letter and resume does not do that.

The entire letter is full of grammatical errors, bad sentence structure, and reads like it was writen by someone where English is a second language or with sloppy writing skills. Neither excuse is acceptable. If you are going to write a formal, introductory letter in any language, make sure it is grammatically and structurally correct. I suggest you find someone local with resume writing experience to give you a hand.

Introductory letters and resumes have become an art form that can kill your chances before you even get to the door.

yeah I'm not that great with english and hope to have someone go over it with a fine tooth comb. This is just the start, I have until the 4th to submit it.
